01 / YOUR BEST REFERENCE
Measure a belt that fits.
▯○ ○ ● ○ ○BUCKLE PIN → YOUR USUAL HOLE
Lay a well-fitting pin-buckle belt flat. Measure from the buckle pin to the hole you normally use, rather than measuring the full tip-to-tip length.
For example, a measurement of 95 cm is a useful starting reference for a 95 cm effective belt length. Always confirm how the specific supplier measures its sizes.
02 / FIND THE RIGHT POSITION
Waist or hips?
Measure where you intend to wear the belt, over the clothing you will wear with it. A belt worn at the waist may need a different length from one worn through low-rise trouser loops.
Do not assume your trouser label size equals your belt size. If you are between measurements, confirm the usable adjustment range before ordering.
03 / DIFFERENT CLOSURES
Check the adjustment range.
Pin buckles, sliding buckles, automatic mechanisms, woven designs, and chain closures adjust differently. Confirm the smallest and largest usable lengths, buckle width, and compatibility with your belt loops.
Some straps may be designed for trimming; others are not. Do not cut a belt without confirming that the specific product supports it.
04 / KEEP IT LOOKING GOOD
Care starts with the material.
Follow the care instructions supplied with the final product. Avoid soaking, excessive heat, and abrasive cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft cloth and let the belt dry naturally when appropriate.
Do not apply leather conditioner, metal polish, or cleaning solvents until the strap material and buckle finish have been confirmed. Store loosely coiled or hanging without a sharp fold.
